So I was going to do meta on why I think A Scandal in Belgravia is poorly structured, wasn’t I?
[OK, this ended up being over 1700 words long. Not including the stuff above the cut or the stuff at the very end. Woooow.]
And then that post I made and really shouldn’t have tagged about Irene Adler blew up and suddenly I lost all desire to engage with Sherlock fandom at all. But it’s been a while! So I’m going to do it! And then I’m going… to regret tagging it! (The things I do to help people Tumblr saviour this shit.)
MMKAY. SOME DISCLAIMERS. Last time taught me they were necessary.
- I liked ‘A Scandal in Belgravia’ despite a) finding it problematic and b) finding it quite weakly written in places!
- If you disagree with the shit in this, I actually do not mind at all and you do not need to justify it to me! This isn’t about stuff I found problematic, it’s just about how the episode was written, which is obviously subjective and, also, not as important as shit that is problematic so really, I am not fussed.
- Seriously, if this is like your fave episode ever you probably shouldn’t read this. It’s fine. Spend your time more enjoyably and go rewatch it or something!
