In general, this is not a spoiler free blog. I tag everything obsessively and text usually goes under a cut for a while, but be warned! I use trigger warnings, but for an idea of what this blog contains, check the "warnings" page at the top. Some triggers are sometimes warned for only in tags (to be blocked)- if this is a problem, please proceed at your own risk. If you have a specific trigger that you want to be able to block I can absolutely add a specific tag- please ask!

The tag I use for flashing images is GIFs, if you need to block them. .

Let me put it this way

Before I go to bed.

DC has a million and one problems with sexism. There’s the lack of women as a focus. There’s the sexualised poses. There’s the sexualised costumes. There’s the sexualised figures. Etc. Etc. Etc.

One of these has now been fixed- there’s a woman front and centre! However, fixing that one and only that one, obviously, doesn’t fix the others. They’re still there.

Which means that there are still things in comics that are sexist, and that are still hurtful. This has not been changed by fixing that one thing.

So if you say, or imply, that women are being ridiculous by continuing to complain, and that it would be better if they stopped- you’re saying that women are only entitled to have one problem fixed. Since, you know, it’s hard to fix problems if they aren’t complained about.

So anyone who thinks that people who are still complaining after WW was put on that cover in the middle are “unpleasable” for still complaining apparently thinks that women ought to be pleased that they have one fewer problem, but still a million left.

Who the fuck is pleased with a million problems? Sure, it’s better than a million and one- but they’re still problems.

In conclusion: yep, DC fixed one thing. And left a million things still to fix. This means that women still have a million legitimate complaints left to air. So if we could please stop acting like us ladies are unreasonable for wanting more than a millionth of the problem to be fixed, and instead for wanting the entire problem to be fixed- that would be lovely, and I’d dearly appreciate it.
